Wyoming Electrical License Renewal Requirements

To keep your Wyoming electrical license active, you must meet the state’s renewal and continuing education requirements within the designated timeframes.
  • Journeyman Electricians: Renew every three years by January 1st

  • Master Electricians: Renew every three years by July 1st

Both Master and Journeyman Electricians must:

  • Complete 16 hours of continuing education (CE) during each 3-year license cycle

  • At least 8 of the 16 hours must focus on the National Electrical Code (NEC)

    Finish your 16 required CE hours—including at least 8 hours of NEC-based training—before your license renewal date.

  2. Submit Your Application
    Renew online via the Wyoming State Fire Marshal’s Public Portal.

  3. Pay the Renewal Fee
    Ensure your payment is submitted along with your renewal application.

  4. Maintain Records
    Keep certificates of completion for all CE courses in case they are requested for verification.
