Alabama Electrical License Renewal
- For Electrical Contractors:
Continuing Education: Complete 14 hours of continuing education every two years, with a minimum of 7 hours focused on the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Renewal Fee: $150
- For Journeyman Electricians:
Continuing Education: There is currently no continuing education requirement.
Renewal Fee: $35
- General Renewal Process:
Complete Continuing Education (if required): Finish your continuing education before your license expires.
Submit Renewal Application: Complete the renewal form available on the Alabama Electrical Contractors Board’s website.
Pay Renewal Fee: Submit the required fee using a money order or cashier’s check. Personal and company checks are not accepted.
Mail Application and Fee: Send both to the address listed on the Alabama Electrical Contractors Board’s website.
