Delaware Electrical License Renewal Guide
- License Renewal Periods
All electrician licenses in Delaware expire on June 30 of even-numbered years (e.g., 2024, 2026).
- Continuing Education Requirements
For Master, Master Special, Limited, and Limited Special Electricians:
Complete 10 hours of state-approved CE during each renewal cycle.
Starting with your second renewal, at least 5 of the 10 hours must cover the National Electrical Code (NEC).
For Journeypersons, Residential, and Apprentice Electricians:
Complete 5 hours of approved CE per renewal cycle.
Apprenticeship training (from a Board-approved program) counts toward CE hours during the period it’s completed.
- License Renewal Process
Complete CE Requirements: Finish your required hours before the June 30 deadline.
Submit Online Renewal: Use the DELPROS portal (Delaware Professional Regulation Online Service) to renew your license.
Pay the Renewal Fee: Submit the applicable fee during your online renewal.
Keep Your Records: Maintain proof of CE completion. Some licensees are randomly selected for CE audits after renewal.

No, Delaware does not currently have a process for course providers to submit completions directly to the state.
Once you finish the course, you will receive a certificate of completion, which you can use to verify your continuing education when renewing your license or if selected for an audit.
